our girls' campout & the beach

Image
Hello friends! Are you all excited that it's summer? I know I am, so this is what I did last weekend and this week. Last Friday my sisters and I spent most of the day at my grandparents' house raking and cleaning up their yard. (They live in the woods.) Before we left, Grandma asked if we wanted to come back on Saturday to camp out in her camper that night. Well of course I answered yes. What a great way to start off the summer! The camper we camped in. We are weirdos... As usual. ;) Before roasting marshmallows around the campfire, we did a ladder ball matchup. Since there were four of us, we played two games; one with Grandma and Hadassah, and the other with Selah and myself. Grandma and I won those, so we decided to do the  ultimate  "championship." Did I mention we were weird? ;) After playing for about a half hour, I turned out to be the winner. Then we moved on to the s'mores.  What is a campout without s'mores, right? ...

what's awesome about having out-of-state pen pals

So in the afternoon last Monday, I received a letter from one of my friends (whom I've never met) from New York. My sisters brought this package to me and when I saw who it was from, I was overflowing with excitement. I love, love,  love  getting something in the mail, especially a package! But hey, doesn't everybody? ;) My sweet friend Ellie and I started to email each other back and forth last October. We both took the same online class for Latin, and shared the same interest in that being our favorite school subject. But to keep in touch more once the school year was over, we decided to become pen-pals. Here are a few reasons why having an out-of-state pen pal is awesome : - You might receive very sweet gifts. (In my case, it was a Rainbow Loom bracelet.) - You can compliment each other's handwriting. ;) I guess you can do that with anybody, but it's just more fun to compliment someone you've never met. - You can learn about each other's interests...

Welcome to "especial" | Do's & Don'ts of Playing Tennis

Hi. I'm Josephine, and welcome to my first blog ever, "especial." I can hear the dramatic music right now. Basically, this whole thing will be about the life, happiness, struggles, and craziness of this girl. But other than what seems to make me sound (excuse me, nuts ), I live a somewhat normal life like everyone else. Finally, let's jump into the blog post: Do's & Don'ts of Playing Tennis Now, I don't play sports all the time, but I do enjoy them once in awhile. I mean, who likes spending their whole summer not going outside and not doing something energizing? I know I don't. So I decided (for the fourth year) to join the homeschoolers in a few weeks of tennis. Oh, did I mention I was homeschooled? Anyway, after playing for a few years, I think I finally got it down. But for those of you who don't, here are my "do's and don'ts" of playing the sport (based on mistakes I've done myself.) Do's: - ...
