our girls' campout & the beach

Hello friends! Are you all excited that it's summer? I know I am, so this is what I did last weekend and this week.

Last Friday my sisters and I spent most of the day at my grandparents' house raking and cleaning up their yard. (They live in the woods.) Before we left, Grandma asked if we wanted to come back on Saturday to camp out in her camper that night. Well of course I answered yes. What a great way to start off the summer!

The camper we camped in.
We are weirdos... As usual. ;)
Before roasting marshmallows around the campfire, we did a ladder ball matchup. Since there were four of us, we played two games; one with Grandma and Hadassah, and the other with Selah and myself. Grandma and I won those, so we decided to do the ultimate "championship." Did I mention we were weird? ;) After playing for about a half hour, I turned out to be the winner. Then we moved on to the s'mores.

What is a campout without s'mores, right?
As soon as the bugs started coming out before sundown, we got into the camper and decided to hit the hay. Or did we? No, we stayed up until almost midnight playing Uno, Spoons, Apples to Apples, and eating junk food, making me losing all hope for eating healthy. ;) What can I say? We were nuts.

Finally, we got to sleep. At 8 a.m. we woke up, played more games, and prepared breakfast. Scrambled eggs, Greek yogurt (sweetened with fruit. That stuff is sour), and breakfast sausage. What a healthy way to start the day, right? At least, compared to what I had the night before.

We hung out there for the rest of the day, and then went home. All of us were exhausted.

Tuesday was one of those days. We had nothing going on, and Mom asked us what we wanted to do that day. I thought; Ski shark show? No, that's tomorrow. Hang out at home? Boring! I want to get out of the house. Bike on the biking trail? Nah. And then it came to me. "Let's go to the beach! We haven't done that yet this year."

We got our swimsuits on, packed our towels and chairs, and headed out.

You can't see it, but she is sticking her feet in very wet sand and getting herself muddy.
Other than ending up with a red face and sunburnt shoulders, I had a great time. It wasn't extremely hot, so I wasn't all that excited to get into the water. But I lied out in the sun, (which by the way, is very relaxing.) and watched my youngest sister make a sand castle thing... And covering herself in mud. Yuck. I do have one regret though. I should have brought a book.

Now I should get back to reading Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austin. And if you did not know, it's based in early 1800s England. Which is kind of annoying, because of their English back then. I mean, I could say what the characters say in the book in a lot less words. ;)

Ps: Can you believe it is already the last day of June? Man, how time flies.

  3. Looks super fun! (And that picture of you and Hadassah in the camper cracks me up. ;))

Lol, I can totally relate with what you said about Sense and Sensibility. I read that sometime last year and the conversations were kinda hard to follow. And most of it didn't make any sense. I don't even remember what it was about. :P Maybe I should have watched the movie first...

    1. Lol. It was SO humid when that picture was taken, which made that spoon just stick to her nose...

I know right? Those conversations are really hard to follow. But I watched the movie first, so I can follow along a lot easier than if I didn't watch the movie first.
