the week comes to a close | July 24-30

This Week: Began with taking my first bike ride around town this summer, and ended with a musical movie marathon. I am starting to see my 2016 Summer Bucket List slowly shrink... By doing randoms things throughout the week. As for activities I did a 3 day volleyball camp in Green Bay, as well as volleyball at Clintonville. National Dance Day ( which, by the way, was yesterday ) was spent   playing Zumba dance with my sister yesterday morning, and later on attempting tap dancing to Singin' in the Rain  with my best friend. ;) Photos of the Week: Oh yeah, my parents went on a date one night and my sisters and I decided to decorate their room and add classical music. ;) Bible Verse of the Week: Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. ~ Hebrews 4:16 Goals I Achieved from Last Week:  - Don't exercise so much that I get tired and pull a muscle or something. ...

PB2 bites with chocolate & coconut

Image
My sister has been begging me to share this recipe, so I guess I'll do it. This is a healthy, low fat and gluten free recipe that could be a dessert, or just a snack to eat before going out somewhere. This is literally a lifesaver for me for when I'm craving cookies, or somekind of dessert. Also, these PB2 bites taste just like peanut butter oatmeal cookies, which is awesome because  I love peanut butter cookies! ;)  Also, if you don't have PB2, you could probably use 2/3 cup of regular creamy peanut butter. I haven't tried it, but I don't see why it shouldn't work. Serves 8 / Makes 24 Nutrition Facts ( Per Serving ) Calories - 181 Fat - 8 grams Carbohydrates - 22 grams Protein - 6 grams Ingredients - 2/3 cup PB2 ( reconstituted with 1/3 cup of water ) - 1 cup old fashioned oats - 1/2 cup flaked coconut - 1/3 cup ground flaxseed - 1 tsp. vanilla extract - 1/3 cup semisweet chocolate chips ( I personally think mini chips work b...

the week comes to a close | July 17-23

This Week : Not intriguing whatsoever. Mostly spent working on cleaning our house and sorting out what we want to give away and what to keep. But some portions of the week were spent hanging out with friends, buying school books ( already?! ) ,   volleyball, going out golfing with my sister, and watching my best friend ( and many other friends ) perform in Alice in Wonderland . Also, I spent my free time thinking about auditions for the WRHS musical ( though I have no clue what musical they are doing ) and practicing my acrobatic "skills." ;) Yes, my life is extremely  boring.  Photos of the Week: Yes, sorting through papers/many other things can be quite time consuming. Bible Verse of the Week: But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. ~ Romans 5:8 Goals I Achieved from Last Week: - Get out golfing with my grandma and little sister. ( Slightly. I went out with my sister, ...

how to deal with your younger self

Image
I don't know if you have experienced this, but I have. You know, when you go through the archives of your life, and then you somehow  pass through your old journals, art masterpieces, and "books." ( I say "books" with quotations because the stories I wrote should not have been books. ) The kind of stuff that makes you scream on the inside. There is no way around it... It's officially a part of history. ( Well, at least YOU will remember it. Hopefully other people won't. ) But there will be NO more suffering over your younger self, for I have the solution to comfort yourself when reading/"admiring" your old masterpieces.  - Remember, I was in 3rd grade! There is no way I could spell "suits" right. Oh wait... That is a little embarrassing. ;) - Think about it. For a 6 year old, this art piece was pretty good!  Sure Josephine... Very intriguing stuff. - A diary is something to write in. You can write whatev...

the week comes to a close | July 10-16

This Week: Began with my youngest sister's birthday.   Golf, volleyball, watching some of my youngest friends, receiving an American Girlie,  ( a.k.a., American Girl doll ) photography fun, adventures on a beautiful  walking trail, and watching a comedy show. To be honest, golfing, volleyball, hanging with friends, AND  getting the American Girl doll all happened in one day! Yeah, I was exhausted. But as soon as we got Saige, ( the doll ) I was immediately jealous of my sister. ;) But she did let me take a few snapshots. If you're wondering which doll is Saige in the pictures below, she has darker hair.  Sorry, moving on! Yesterday we left to visit some old friends, who happen to have a walking trail, so my sisters and I grabbed my phone and had our own little adventure. The flowers were absolutely stunning in the sunlight! I don't think "stunning" should be used there, but I don't care! Also, we went to see the comedy group, Fish Sticks. Yes, weird ...

9 new things i've tried recently

Image
Okay, so enough with posts of my life, let's get to the real stuff. ;) Today, I will mention 9 new things I have tried recently. Let's jump right in. 1. Fitness Blender A few months ago, I wanted to start exercising every day to get in better shape. But the workout videos I owned on DVD were slightly boring, since I had done them before. So I began to search on YouTube for fitness routines. There, I found an exercise from this YouTube channel, Fitness Blender. After looking through the channel, I started to do some of the exercises. After about a week, I noticed that it was working very well, so I decided make an account on their website. This way, I could search for fitness routines that were in my skill level, the type of exercise I wanted to do, and set up a calendar. A month into it, and I feel a lot stronger, and better! 2. Sense and Sensibility I have tried to read Jane Austen books in the past, but I could never understand them. Just stick to the mov...

the week comes to a close | July 3-9

A very, very short week. At least, it felt like it. Nothing really going on, nothing all that interesting, just mostly life at home. I've been really bad at getting to bed before midnight every night, and I keep waking up way later than I should every the morning. But who cares, there is always next week to get back on track. :) By the way, I have decided to start series called "The Week Comes to a Close." Yes, another series. ;P This Week:  golf/walking for three hours straight, swimming every night at the recreation center, trying out two healthy recipes (thanks to Pinterest) , the anxiety of buying an American Girl doll for my sister, searching for an audition song for the WRHS musical, and a lethargic dog. The story of my life. Photos of the Week: Bible Verse of the Week : He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. ~ Psalms 91:4 Laugh from This Wee...

let the fireworks begin | Diary Days

Image
Independence weekend... Almost my favorite part of the year! It's summer, you get dressed up in red, white, and blue (if you wish), and  get together with friends and family. What better time of year is there? Well, other than the holiday season, but it's too cold. ;) I was extremely busy with random things over the weekend. I'll just give you a synopsis of what I was busy with. Also, I decided to start a new thing called "Diary Days." Basically, once a month-ish I would write about a few specific days I thought would be worth sharing, but I would write them out in a diary format. I hope that would work, and I wouldn't get bored with it. ;) ◆  ◆  ◆ July 1st, 2016, I had a lot of fun tonight. At around 6 p.m. we left our house to meet some friends at the Midwest Rodeo in Manewa. I've never been to a rodeo, but for the first time going, it was not all that bad.  I did feel like an odd-ball though. I just arrived in a baggy teeshirt and lon...
